Beginner's Guide to ElasticSearch -Part 1



Overview
Elastic is a search server based on apache lucene. and Elastic provides a distributed full text search engine that's accessible through a restful interface
Beauty of Elasticsearch :

  • Schema-less
  • JSON instead
  • ELasticsearch is document -based store
  • Open Source and Build in Java (Which means Elasticsearch is platform independent )
  • It's an alternative to tarditinal documnet stores. 

How to Install Elasticsearch :
Step 1: Download and Install  Java
Step 2: Set up environment variables in your PC
Step 4: Download Kibana also(I'll explain )   
Step 5: Extract all zip or tar files and open cmd or terminal 
Step 6:  According to 1===> change directory in to bin folder and execute elasticerach see 2 ==> you can see the server is stared command.   
Step 7 : Open your browser and type "localhost:9200"  Then you can see the message like this

Kibana lets you visualize your elasticsearch data and navigate the elasticsearch stack.So you can learn more thing in kibana documentation 

ok Let's start kibana . Make sure Elasticserach is  already started.

Step 1 : Change the directory and go to the bin folder in kibana .

Step 2 : Run the kibana.bat(for windows)
